ADAM LIPPES
After graduating from Cornell University, Lippes was employed in Polo Ralph Lauren's public relations department. In 1996, he moved to Oscar de la Renta, where he was the creative director from 1999 to 2003.
In Spring 2004, Lippes launched his own clothing line, then called Adam + Eve, now ADAM. Since then, the business has expanded from a luxury basics line into a larger sportswear collection for men and women. In August 2007, Lippes was inducted as a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Lippes's first formal runway show was held on September 6, 2007, during the Spring 2008 New York Fashion Week. The show was well-reviewed by style.com and was featured on the cover of Women's Wear Daily the next day. In December 2007, Adam opened his first freestanding boutique in Manhattan's Meatpacking District. Currently, ADAM is available in over 250 stores in 10 countries around the world, including Bergdorf Goodman, Jeffrey NY, Saks Fifth Avenue, Henri Bendel, Vivre, and Kitson (L.A.).
